El Dorado County Fair 2013

Here I am with my
"Modern Starburst" Quilt that I entered in the El Dorado County Fair.  I didnt win any prizes, but my goal was to show people that quilting can be young and modern and bright and fun, not just older style  patchwork.  I hope that many young people saw what can be done with all the beautiful modern fabics that are out there.  Thanks to  Melissa Corry of "Happy Quilting" for having this QAL so that I could make this wonderful quilt...

Doll Quilters Monthly for June

Karen F is my partner for the June Doll Swap Monthly...she hinted to me that she was really loving the cute barns being made with Lori Holts "Barn-A-Long"...so since I already had a few made, I picked out one I thought she would like and made it into a little patriotic Americana doll quilt for her....its on its way to its new home!

Raffle Quilt for the VFW

My oldest sister who lives in Mohave Valley, AZ is very active with their local VFW post #404.   She is always baking and cooking and volunteering to help as much as she can so when she asked me if I could make a quilt to donate and raffle off on 4th of July to raise  money for the post...I said "heck ya"...so heres a scrappy patriotic quilt...all done in our beloved RED WHITE & BLUE!

My sister received the quilt in the mail today and loves it!  I hope they raise a bunch of money!
                                               Thank you to our Veterans!
